Kunle Afolayan premiered his recent and anticipated movie "The CEO," on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to the filmmaker, he borrowed 50 million naira from Bank of Industry to produce the movie which premiered 30,000 feet into the air on June 1, 2016.
"I borrowed N50million from Bank of Industry to produce this film," said Afolayan. "Please do not pirate the film. I beg you o. I need to pay back the money.  I think I have 13 months left. Please help o"
He made the above revelation at the star-studded premiere of "The CEO."

In April 2015, some movie pirates in Nigeria threatened to release Afolayan's hit movie"0ctober 1." The threats led to the controversial tweet by Kunle, accusing the Igbos of being responsible for piracy in Nigeria.
On Monday, April 13, 2015, the Filmmaker took to his Instagram page to alert fans that pirated copies of the movie are being sold on the streets of Lagos. He also pleaded with fans not to patronize the sellers.
In a recent interview with Business Day’s Kemi Ajumobi, the multiple award-winning filmmaker revealed that the cost for "The CEO" is around 2 million dollars."
On producing the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards winning movie "October 1," Afolayan said,"It cost about 2million dollars as well. I can’t really lay my hands on how much I really made from the movie. I guess I made quite a lot but can’t say precisely."

"The CEO" which features Hilda Dokubo, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Angelique Kidjo, Wole Ojo among others, will start showing in cinemas from July 15, 2016.
