Here is the order and hierarchical setting of the pastoral levels; and
the key positions and titles of office holders in the Anglican
Communion.

STATION
A Station is a church not yet up to a level to be called a parish.
It's presided over by either of the following

(1) CHURCH TEACHER
POST: Church teacher,
DUTY: Postulant
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Teacher
A church teacher is appointed into his post

(2) CATECHIST
POST: Catechist
DUTY: Postulant
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Teacher
A catechist is appointed into his post

(3) STATION PRIEST
POST: Priest
DUTY: Vicar
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Reverend
A priest is ordained into his post


PARISH
A Parish is a church that has different stations under it. A Parish is
presided over by either of the following

(1) PARISH PRIEST
POST: Parish Priest
DUTY: Vicar
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Reverend
A priest is ordained into his post

(2) ASSITANT PARISH PRIEST
POST: Parish Priest
DUTY: Curet
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Reverend
A Priest is ordained into his post

(3) CANON
POST: Canon/Parish Priest
DUTY: Vicar
DUTY TITLE: Canon
TITLE: Reverend Canon
A Canon is installed into his post


ARCHDEACONRY
Archdeaconry is a church that has different Parishes under it. An
Archdeaconry is presided over by either of the following

(1) ARCHDEACON
POST: Archdeacon
DUTY: Vicar
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Venerable
An Archdeacon is collated into his post

(2) ASSITANT PRIEST
POST: Priest
DUTY: Curet
DUTY TITLE: ---
TITLE: Reverend


DIOCESE
The headquarters of a diocese is known as the Cathedral. A Diocese has
different Archdeaconries under it.
The cathedral is presided over by the following

(1) DEAN OF THE CATHEDRAL
POST: Dean
DUTY: Curet
DUTY TITLE: Dean
TITLE: Very Reverend
A dean is appointed into his post

(2)BISHOP
POST: Bishop
DUTY: The Diocesan
DUTY TITLE: Lord, his Lordship
TITLE: Rt. Reverend
A bishop is consecrated into his post


PROVINCE
A province has different Dioceses under it. The headquarters of a
province is known as the Provincial Cathedral.
The Provincial Cathedral is presided over by the following

(1) ARCHBISHOP
POST: Archbishop
DUTY: The Archbishop
DUTY TITLE: Grace, His Grace
TITLE: Most Reverend
An Archbishop is elected into his post


THE ANGLICAN COMMUNION
All the Provinces are under the Anglican Communion. It is presided
over by the following

(1)PRIMATE
POST: Primate
DUTY: The Primate
DUTY TITLE: Grace, His Grace
TITLE: Most Reverend
A Primate is elected into his post


In the Anglican Communion, we have groups that make up the three houses:

(A) The house of Bishops
-Bishops
-Arch Bishops

(B) The house of Clergies
-The priests
-The canons
-The Archdeacons
-The Deans

(C)The house of Laities
-The knights
-The legal
-The Church teachers
-The Catechists
-The lay readers
- The congregation


NOTE the following:

(1) In the Anglican Church system, you do not use the term
'Promotions', you use "Preferment"
(2)A Bishop "reigns"; he does not "rule"
(3)A bishop is "translated"; not "transferred"
(4)A chaplain is the personal assistant priest to the Bishop.
