The reviews are in for the anticipated film based on the Warcraft video game series, and novels set in the world of Azeroth.
Check out what critics have to say.
"Almost worth watching, if you still find yourself at loose ends after you've given the dog a bath, organized 10 years' worth of tax returns and completely moth-proofed your closet." Time Magazine.
"Jones ... against the odds, has mined a watchable movie out of an entertainment franchise that started with a video game and now includes novels, comics and assorted schlock (toys, costumes, a mah-jongg set)." - New York Times.
"Here's hoping the next chapter languishes in development hell forever." Washington Post.
"Director Duncan Jones will live to fight another day. But you leave the mostly worthless Warcraft with just two words ringing in your ear: Game over." - Rolling Stone.
"Sitting through Warcraft is like being bludgeoned on the head with a Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual for 100 minutes. The big hardcover one." -Entertainment Weekly.
"No need to have ever played a video game to enjoy Warcraft, though a healthy affection for swashbuckling action and throwback fantasy probably helps." - USA Today.
"The final product brings to mind those animated advertisements for iPhone app games." Variety.
"Dramatically and technically, Warcraft gives the concept of "hybrid" new punch." - The Hollywood Reporter.
"Imagine Battlefield Earth without the verve, or the unintentional comedy." The Wrap.
Plot
Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization, led by the humans, faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying world of Draenor to find their place in another.
As a gateway known as the Dark Portal opens to connect the two worlds, the humans face destruction while the orcs face extinction. Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), leader of the humans, and Durotan (Toby Kebbell), leader of the orcs, are then sent on a collision course that will decide the fate of their families, their people and their homes.
